Pet Therapy
Alternative veterinary medicine is following in the footsteps of human
medicine and complementary medicine.
Holistic veterinarians have long held that the diet, for example, should
be wholesome, and the pet or animal would stay healthy as a result. Now,
acupuncture is routinely performed on animals and pets for treatment of
arthritis, allergies, and spinal disc problems.
Most of the alternative providers agree that pets should not be fed
commercial pet products, which contain additives and chemicals due to
processing.
Chiropractic therapy is also being used with benefit, especially where
gait problems are found, or traditional therapy fails.
