Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a branch of medicine that employs both the traditional western medical school with training in physical manipulation, or physical medicine.

The idea is the the structure is related to function, so if the mechanical structure is improved, function will follow.

Like other alternative modalities, a preventive lifestyle is encouraged as a primary treatment plan. Premenopausal women should be encouraged to lead a physically active lifestyle and take calcium and mineral supplements as a preventative measure.

Gentle mobilization, cranial manipulation, muscle energy techniques, and release methods are all used to help the patient improve.
